About the Design
Sylvia Rivera was on the front lines of the Gay Rights Movement during the 1970s. Even so, because she was a transgender woman of color living below the poverty line, she was pushed to the margins. She was kept from speaking at the Pride Rally in 1973, but took the stage anyway.
